All of these are approximately 4 1/2 x 6 inches, mixed media on paper, and ALL of them sold almost immediately. Which is nice! But I have worn the prints off the tips of my fingers, blending pastels.

Frances
Frances had a rough weekend. On Saturday night, she somehow tore the cruciate ligament on her “good” knee. One minute she was fine, and the next she was three-wheeling it around the house. Her annual check-up was scheduled for Monday, so the vet checked it out and confirmed it’s a cruciate tear. She is full of woe. All her toys and her beloved tennis balls have been put away. She’s back on activity restriction until I can save up the money for surgery.
Somehow, she still manages to stretch out in the frog position. I wonder if it feels good, or if she’s just being pig-headed?
The good news is that, apparently, the TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement) surgery she had last summer is pretty damn stable. It’s expensive, but worth it in the long run for a dog like Frances. That’s what I plan on doing this time around, too, because I’m really happy with how well she recovered from it. That knee is rock solid.
What this means is that I’m going to try to get more things listed in my Etsy shop. There are some pieces there already, mostly small paintings. There will be more to come, too, with all sales going to Franny’s knee fund.

Test
A little test to see if I can copy the HTML code from the FlickStackr app and use it to post photos with the Blogger app. It’s a little clunky, but maybe preferable to uploading photos to Blogger. This way, you can view larger sizes, if you want.
(Turns out, you cannot do that. The Blogger app doesn’t understand HTML. Alas.)
Notes from the Past
I went through a large stack of poems I’d written, spanning from 2nd grade through high school. They are terrible. Like, really, really, really awful. Some of them were written on class notes, which also contained doodles and strange, random bits of what I’m sure seemed at the time to be wisdom.
Physics class was especially boring, apparently. And alsoplustoo, I have never, ever been able to draw. Are those skaters wearing mohawks or rabbit ears?
Also from physics class. Could be an angel. Or maybe not.
Soup
I am sick with the plague. It’s 72F outside, but I made vegetable soup, anyway. I figured it couldn’t hurt. I spiked it with a healthy glug of Szechuan sauce, so it would be spicy. And tomorrow it’s supposed to snow, so it will be nice to have leftovers.
(The white stuff on top is rough chopped garlic. Under the veggies is a bed of spinach, and under that is a frozen quart of homemade veggie stock. I just tossed everything in the crock pot until it turned into soup.)
