I found a really ugly painting at Goodwill. The stretcher was nice, though, so I bought it with the intention of recycling it. I removed the loose strings and primed the canvas with gesso, before painting.

The under-layer is from a page of my old art history notes on Rodin. I highlighted the word “unfinished,” then gessoed over everything else, so it isn’t quite legible, and added the tree and map.
All of these are approximately 4 1/2 x 6 inches, mixed media on paper, and ALL of them sold almost immediately. Which is nice! But I have worn the prints off the tips of my fingers, blending pastels.
