Thar She Blows!

Radar

That red dot below Indianapolis is me. I’m really hoping that the tornado watch we’re under doesn’t turn into a tornado warning (counties northeast of us are under one right now). And if it does, I hope that IU’s emergency warning system is working properly, because I can barely hear the storm sirens from my bedroom. They aren’t loud enough to actually wake me up, but an email notification should.

I really, really, really hate tornado season.

Spring Cleaning

Apparently today was the day for spring cleaning. All the rugs have been washed, and the patio windows are clean inside and out, including the frames and tracks. Well, clean-ish. Harriet immediately smeared her nose all over them. Brat.

And look at what a beautiful day it was! Sunny and not too hot, just perfect for opening the windows and airing out the house.

A Curious Pig

One of my coworkers was cataloging a book for the fine arts library when I stopped by her desk to talk. I flipped through the book quickly, to look at the pictures (I work with boring government documents, so I rarely get to play with fun books). There were several photos of tattooed, taxidermied pigs. WTF?! The text was all in French, which I don’t speak, so I don’t know what the artist had to say about his work. The images were both creepy and amazing, though. Seriously, who the hell tattoos a dead pig?! WITH THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS?!!!

The funny part (to me, anyway) is that I’ve really been wanting to get a tattoo of a flying pig. Maybe the universe is trying to tell me something
