Catfishing

Fishing for Kitties (And One Puppy)

It took me three trips to Target, but I finally managed to get a decent, working camera. It was a total pain in my ass. The camera is not the one I originally wanted, nor was it the second one I wanted. And it’s definitely not the brand I wanted. I’m a Canon/Kodak person, not a Nikon person (kind of like a I’m a PC person, not a Mac person?). The camera is nice enough, but everything is in the wrong place.

It also doesn’t have a view-finder, which I realize is pretty standard for new point-and-shoot cameras. I don’t like it, though. I don’t like that most of the menus are accessed via the LCD screen. I don’t like using the LCD screen, period. It’s not good for composing photos, for sure. It’s also a battery hog, which makes it a less than ideal way to change camera settings.

That said, the test photos and video I took seem Just Fine. My problems with the camera are on the design end, not with the lens and processor, and obviously, the lens and processor are what matters.

But most importantly, I just cannot stand Ashton Kutcher.

Thing 1 and Thing 2

“Pardon?”

These two are so freaking cute, they drive me to distraction. They are also very, very B-A-D. I am constantly reminded of the twin goats we had when I was a kid. I don’t even remember if they had proper names. We called them Thing 1 and Thing 2. They, too, were very, very B-A-D. And like the kittens, where you found one goat, you could be sure the other was nearby. What good is it, getting into trouble, if you do not have a trusty sidekick?

Staff Meeting Doodle

Staff Meeting Doodle
gel ink and ballpoint pen in steno pad
7 1/8 x 6 inches

I have no idea when I started this one. The inner parts are old and must have been done at least five years ago. I didn’t realize there were old doodles in any of the mostly filled notebooks in my desk, but I found this one when I was hunting around for something to take to the last staff meeting.

That interior part looks loose and sloppy to me. I don’t doodle like that anymore, which is kind of weird. Who knew that doodle styles evolved over time?!

Must you keep tapping…?

Someone in number 11 is tap-tap-tapping on the wall. They’ve done this periodically over the past few days. I am tempted to randomly return fire. Or maybe offer them my stud finder.

And a random factoid: According to my WordPress dashboard, I’m at 1,953 posts. Though, for some reason, this post has a permalink number of 2037. I wonder why there’s a discrepancy between the two numbers? Anyway, 2000 should be coming up soon!

Andalso a random Lensbaby macro photo:
