Once upon a time, when I was a wee ‘un, I’d save all my pennies until I had enough to buy concert tickets. I went to dozens and dozens of shows with my pennies. I still save my pennies, but with the price of tickets these days, it’d take me the rest of my life to accumulate enough to buy just one.

I got nothing accomplished this weekend, besides reading (big pile of books and a library due date looming). I haven’t even turned on the TV, which is probably a good thing, because Polly has decided that the space in front of it is her new perch. I’ve often said that cats are more entertaining than television!

It’s a Bird!
I found this photo in a book I was cataloging. I don’t get many books with photos, so it was kind of noteworthy for that, if nothing else. And then I saw this photo, taken in 1909. It’s of a “Rumpler-Taube,” an early German war plane meant to mimic the shape of a bird. The “skin” that would have covered the “skeleton” would have been painted with bird-like features.
