This evening is all about making biscuits. Also making lentils and brown rice, but the biscuits are the what’s making me happy.
Is There an Editor in the House?
This book was clearly converted from paper to text via OCR. You can tell by the lack of spacing in passages of dialogue, making it seem as if the characters are talking to themselves, and by the peculiar substitution of Em and Ell for I’m and I’ll, and alsoplustoo by the frequent instances where multiple words are run together.
Normally, you’d expect a human editor to clean up that mess. But you might also expect a human editor to have caught the misuse of “their” in the print version that the digital copy was made from. In both cases, you would be WRONG.
And this was not a 99 cent special from Bob’s Backyard DIY Publishing Shack, either. I paid $6.00 for that load of crap, which was published by St. Martin’s Press.
In the Sun
I got Frances the StarMark Treat Ball a few months ago. She loves it, and it’s held up really well. And it’s soft jelly plastic, so it’s really quiet. I usually stuff it with a few puppy sized dog biscuits, but today, she’d already had as many of those as I thought she should. What to do? I sliced up some chunks of carrot, stuffed them in the treat ball, and gave it to her. It was a big hit!

Franny vs. the Butterfly Bush
Frances loves sticks. I don’t normally want her to play with sticks, onna counta YOU’LL PUT YOUR EYE OUT. Also she is missing a couple of teeth, and I don’t want her damaging the ones she has left or worse, swallowing a piece of stick and poking a hole in her GI tract. So many worries! Franny does not care, though, about any of that. She just wants to play with sticks. Imagine the expression on her face when she realized that there was a stick bush in her yard. It was epic, yo. And then she promptly commenced to destroying it. Like ya’ do.
The butterfly bush was in desperate need of pruning, so all’s well that ends well.

Piglet Iz on Teh Tweeter
So. It came to my attention that the Twitter handle PigTweetz was not taken. SHOCKING! That had to be rectified, tout de effin’ suite, which means that Piglet has been given the keys to his very own Twitter account.
