I wish it would rain. The radar has been showing a large swath of precipitation hovering to the northwest of us, but it seems to be stalled. Maybe there’s a force field around Bloomington?
Veggies
I made dal with an allegedly “mild” seasoning packet from Pakistan. Pakistani “mild” is not entirely unlike the surface of the sun. The flavor is really good, though, so I’ve been eating it as a condiment with tons of plain sauteed veggies. Still OMGHOT, but tolerable.
Just make sure you have plenty of Kleenex nearby, because your eyes will water and your nose will run.

This may be the smarmiest poem ever written. Ella Wheeler Wilcox was the ultimate Pollyanna, which annoys the crap out of me. I do love to “fix” her poems, though. I like to think of it as posthumous editing. Someone really should have told her that less is more.

I’ve spent the last four hours tearing down paper. That might not sound too laborious, but it’s 140 lb cold press watercolor paper, so it’s heavy and rough. My hands are sore, so I’m saving the binding work for tomorrow.
