Work and Reward

The skeleton of my couch. It's totally trashed, so I need to haul it out to the dumpster, but I have no truck or help. I figured I could take it apart. Considering it's made of cardboard and the crappiest plywood and pine on earth, the rest should be a do

The skeleton of my couch. It’s totally trashed (thanks, jerk cats!), so I needed to haul it out to the dumpster, but I have no truck or help. I figured I could take it apart. It was made of cardboard and the crappiest plywood and pine, held together with 4″ staples. And now it’s gone.

I have an old futon frame that’s super low to the ground. Once Frances is healed, a lower couch will be more safe for her to get on and off.

My apartment feels like a crappy dorm now, but Frances will be safer, and that’s more important.

My reward for working my ass off today: Netflix and a cupcake.

As far as I can tell, there is no way to actually find this source at Findmypast, besides locating it in the titles list. It does not appear to be indexed in any way. It’s possible I’m missing something obvious, of course. The locations do seem to be indexed, though, and within each location, you can page through the alphabetized list of names.

Great-great grandfather Walter can be found in the Castlebar register, on line 29. And look! His name is spelled here with an -e. His father, Michael, died in 1884, so he won’t be found in the 1885 electoral register.

Brownies

Brownie batter should never be pourable. #food #brownies #baking

I don’t understand why people buy pre-made brownie mixes. They’re super quick and easy to make from scratch. Much easier and more forgiving than cake, and it literally takes five minutes to get them into the oven. A box mix isn’t any faster.

Tip: You know the recipe is good, when the batter isn’t pourable. Brownie batter should stay in a tiny mountain until you smooth it over.
