They weren’t kidding when they said we were in the line of a strong storm system.

Mani-pedi Time
This dog makes me laugh every day.
Also, if your dog hates having its nails trimmed, a plate smeared with peanut butter is your secret weapon. Pick up each foot, like you’re shoeing a horse, and the dog will be too busy licking up the peanut butter to care. Zero drama makes life better for everyone.
Goodwill Haul
The baby books are for my niece, Hazel.
I also got a super cheap step for Frances. I attached a piece of carpet to the top, and she’s used it about fifty times already today, to get on and off the couch.
Between her crappy knees and the arthritis in her spine, she’s been really reluctant to get on the couch and the bed. I’ve been worrying about how to help her out, so I’m glad she’s willing (and eager!) to use her new step.

Nothing Is Ever Easy
I bought my blu ray player years ago, and I recall having trouble getting it to connect over wi-fi then. I haven’t had Netflix or used the blu ray player in ages, and forgot. I re-subscribed to Netflix, before dumping cable, and I ran into the same crap again.
Ugh.
But after two hours of troubleshooting, I remembered I had an old cable modem in my box of computer junk. Huzzah! It’s ancient and flaky, so I’ll have to come up with a better plan soon, but for now, it works.
And now I can tell Comcast to GDIAF. (My bill for basic cable, phone, and internet went up to $250. It’s been slowly creeping up for years, but that is my limit. So I’m joining the 21st century and dropping it to just internet.)

Sasser with Tiny Teefs
Frances hurt her left knee a few days ago. She’s been on bed rest, which is not her favorite thing. Today she sat fairly straight for the first time (no side-saddle, though her knees are akimbo), so I think she’s finally feeling better. Her sasser is functioning at 100%.
In other news, I’m finally (FINALLY!) finished trawling the 1939 Register for Basquills (and all the various permutations). It ended up taking longer than I thought it would, but it filled in a lot of gaps.
