Full Moon in the Earth’s Shadow

IMG_1328

This isn’t technically a great photo, obviously, but the view this morning from the staff lounge was pretty wonderful. The full moon is in the twilight arch (the shadow of the Earth cast on the atmosphere by the sun rising in the opposite direction), below the Belt of Venus (the reflection of the sunrise in the opposite direction). This was morning, so it was the western sky.

Eggs

IMG_0411

I’ve got a giant jar of pickle juice sitting in the fridge, which means it’s time to make pickled eggs. (You can’t really tell unless you look at the bottom rim of the pan, but the eggs are under water, cooling off. That’s why there are some strange shadows and reflections.)

Liberty Methodist Protestant Church

Liberty Methodist Protestant Church, Monroe County, Indiana

I spent the day uploading almost 200 photos to Findagrave. My backlog is almost caught up. I still have a handful of photos left to transcribe and upload, but those were taken just a few weeks ago, at Mount Gilead Cemetery. All the old ones are FINISHED. I even submitted GPS coordinates to Findagrave for the cemeteries that were lacking them, as well as notifying them of some duplicate cemetery records. Liberty Methodist, for example, had not only two different entries in Monroe County, but someone had added a third one for Owen County. The more the merrier, I guess!
