Yesterday’s orange bell pepper was delicious. Pretty, too. I love the striations. It was just as crisp and juicy as it looks.

Sunrise Over Wright Quad
I wish it would rain. The radar has been showing a large swath of precipitation hovering to the northwest of us, but it seems to be stalled. Maybe there’s a force field around Bloomington?
Veggies
I made dal with an allegedly “mild” seasoning packet from Pakistan. Pakistani “mild” is not entirely unlike the surface of the sun. The flavor is really good, though, so I’ve been eating it as a condiment with tons of plain sauteed veggies. Still OMGHOT, but tolerable.
Just make sure you have plenty of Kleenex nearby, because your eyes will water and your nose will run.

I found these kids’ books at Goodwill today and couldn’t reaist them. I think Piglet would approve.
Paper, Paper, Paper
I’ve spent the last four hours tearing down paper. That might not sound too laborious, but it’s 140 lb cold press watercolor paper, so it’s heavy and rough. My hands are sore, so I’m saving the binding work for tomorrow.

Sassafras
On the bright side, the sassafras trees are starting to show off their fall colors.
Giant Ragweed
That spikey stuff growing out of the top of the thicket? It’s giant ragweed (AKA horseweed). It’s growing about ten feet from my patio, and it’s trying to kill me.
