Technical Difficulties

I’ve been playing around with my blog template (apologies for the temporary weirdnesses). I think I’ve got things pretty well where I want them. The archives and links are now at the bottom instead of in a sidebar. I got sick of the narrow column the old format allowed for posts. It’s easier to read, but not so nice for artwork. I was also getting really tired of the black background.

I had to do some tweaking to get things how I wanted them (in IE, at least). In the process, I managed to piss off Netscape. For some reason I cannot fathom, the blog title is not showing up. I haven’t checked everything in Firefox and Opera, but will try to do so tonight. If anyone is using something besides those four browsers and encounters any ugliness, please let me know and I’ll try to fix it. Coding is so not, not, not my thing, but I’ll do what I can.

Dada Journal, entries from February-March 2005

I was asked how I journaled in a book made from magazine pages, so I thought I’d post more examples from my Dada Journal. Sometimes a visual aid works better than an explanation. These entries were from February-March, during the time when the MoonPie of Delight was in the shop (timing belt and cam shaft bolt/pin). There’s also a rant about new “ergonomic” office furniture (any day now!) and a tangent about the original Star Trek series. I’ve now rewatched every episode and I swear William Shatner flashed his breasts more than any other man in the history of teevee. My theory is that the series ended because they ran out of ways for Captain Kirk to lose his shirt.

I thought I’d add some overall photos of the book. For some reason, Hello is acting cranky. It will only upload uncropped versions of the photos, even though they’ve been cropped, resized, rotated, and saved to an entirely different file. Hrmph. So, we’re going with Flickr. I still don’t like the image sizes Flickr provides. The thumbnails are too small and at 240 pixels, the “small” images are too large. Or, maybe I’m just cranky and need to go take a nap in Baby Bear’s bed?

About Cat-sidh

Pandora

Pandora, the fairy cat, came to me in the Spring of 1990 as a tiny, black kitten–the runt of the litter. She was unable to meow, but soon learned to compensate with an entire vocabulary of trilling chirps. From the first day, she was fearless and gregarious. She never met a stranger and never knew a bad mood. Every new experience she met with curiosity, good grace, and wicked feline wit. She took numerous kittens under her paw, raising them, teaching them the joys of catness, and offering them life-long companionship. A benevolent dictator, Pandora accepted the challenge of keeping the dogs in proper order, ruling over them with a (mostly) velveted paw.

Pandora was a constant source of entertainment, friendship, and inspiration. It’s only fitting that her contribution to my life be recognized, so the name of this website is a tribute to her.
