I did two more drawings on monoprints last night. The metallic wax is really finicky to photograph. All the little dots at the end of the flower spikes are highlighted with metallic wax.

The Freedom Fighter’s Manual

I also finally got images for all the pages of the last big book I did, The Freedom Fighter’s Manual. There are 51 two-page spreads, which is ridiculously huge for one of my books. It took FOREVER to finish, and when I was done I couldn’t stand the thought of scanning the whole thing. I was going to scan it this weekend, so I could put it up on Etsy, but then I couldn’t find the power cable for my scanner. It’s always something. I ended up just taking photos of the pages with my phone, which is going to have to be good enough.

Soul Mapping

Disappointments and Failures

Walk on Eggshells / Bloom Where You're Planted

I recently picked up the Soul Mapping book again and have been going back over it anew. I was in an online art group years ago that was focused around the book, but it turned out not to be such a good idea in terms of “stuff you share with your imaginary friends on the internet.” We all got to chapter 3 and then it turned into radio silence. I ended up finishing the book on my own, and now am having a second pass at it.

In short, it’s a guided art therapy course. I’d recommend it for anyone who has never done such a thing, or anyone who feels stuck. In fact, there’s a section specifically dedicated to “unsticking.”

I’m probably about 2/3 of the way through. This time around I’m doing more writing and less arting, but that’s fine with me.
