Today in pear news, it’s all about checkerboards.
I had the weirdest dream last night. All I remember is a steep driveway totally inlaid with thousands of half-buried, polished stones of various sizes and colors. It looked jewel encrusted. Very pretty! But when I woke up, all I could think was that it would be a nightmare to go up in the rain or snow.
I’m guessing spending the last few days making zillions of circles and dots is what caused it.
More pears. I think I’ve had enough of the circles and dots for now.
Today’s pear, and both pears together. Posca pens are addictive. You can make the tiniest dots with them. It’s very satisfying.
I made an accordion book out of recycled cardboard. Why? Why not? I can’t credit the person I got the idea from. I think I saw it on Instagram. You can soak corrugated cardboard in hot water (tap water is fine), then peel apart the layers.
I’m a sucker for Kraft paper and have made several books out of paper grocery bags, so this looked fun. it was a little messy but not at all difficult. After the cardboard was delaminated, I laid it on the patio to dry, then tore it down, folded and taped the pieces into a long accordion, and glued on a set of recycled book covers.
I guess I’m using this book for pear doodles.
Today was the last day of NACO training.

Two days of NACO training to go. There’s an area where my pen slid across the paper, because I started to fall asleep.
Today’s doodle. I’ve been using a black .7mm Zebra Sarasa gel pen in an A5 Scribbles That Matter notebook.
I’m taking a week long training class. I’ve taken it before, but it’s helpful to brush up whenever it’s offered. The material is dense and dry, and I have trouble staying focused. Doodling helps.
