I’m not sure what was going on up there. It was kind of creepy looking, though.

Hark! A Doodle!
When your toy box attacks and you begin questioning the entire basis of reality.
Poor Chicken Biscuit. The fake deer antler in his toy box has some sharp, pokey bits, where he’s chewed it. One of them must have gotten him in the nose, because he was suddenly afraid of it and wouldn’t go near his toys. He got over it after a few minutes though, so don’t feel too sorry for him. (The little nose poke and paw action at the end of the video are the best things ever. That’s how he asks for my help when he has a problem he just can’t cope with.)
His hives are better! I finally had to give him a dose of prednisone, which helped. He still has a few crusty bits and some itching, but–attacking toy box aside–he’s feeling much better.
Pardina Lentils
These have become my favorite lentils.
I cooked them in the Instant Pot, then made veggie patties after mixing with rice, thinly sliced green onion and celery, grated carrot, garlic, and an egg. You could easily make it vegan by using flax “eggs” instead of chicken eggs. And you can use whatever veggies you like. That’s just what I had on hand.
They were super tasty!

It’s Hives Season
I dont know what Thomas is allergic to, but it appears to be seasonal. I double checked dates, and it was the end of August/beginning of September last year, when he had a terrible outbreak of hives.
Poor biscuit. I was giving him Benadryl, but switched him to Zyrtec last night. That actually seems to be working a bit better. I really don’t want to have to give him steroids if I don’t have to, but I have a supply just in case. (And yes, I consulted his vet about all of this.)
