I dug through a drawer full of old dog collars and found a plain black leather one that fits Thomas. And then I promptly called him Frances. I knew I had the wrong name, but it was too late. It was a very odd experience.
He looks pretty dapper, I think. This collar is definitely well used, but it’s got a lot of life left in it. He seems happy with it.
Frances and Thomas go together well. One could be the middle name for the other. Woofs and Wags, Cosmo and Stella

I don’t think I could reuse a name. Not intentionally, anyway! Besides, Frances would not have approved. She hated other dogs.

Our bad! We didn’t pay attention to the spelling. It would have to be Thomas Francis. Woofs and Wags, Cosmo and Stella
P.S. Human Daddy sometimes forgets and calls me Stretch. Stretch was an enormous polydactyl lion. It’s an honor that Human Daddy sometimes messes up. It means that his love for me already hints at the depths of a 15 year relationship.

I regularly do the Mouseketeer roll call with the cats, and I sometimes called Frances Harriet, but I’ve never called Thomas Frances before. It was weird. He’s nothing like her, but seeing him wearing her collar momentarily broke my brain.
