He’s Baaaaaaack!
That’s right, folks, it’s Mr. Trash Bag, back for an encore performance!
The Crane Wife
The Crane Wife, parts 1, 2, and 3 by Colin Meloy
I’ve been listening to The Decemberists all day. This has to be one of my all-time favorite songs, especially Part 2.
Painting Progress
I stopped working on this ages ago because I hated the Laura Ashley underpainting. It was awful, and I just couldn’t think past it. The painting is back on track now, and hopefully, if the drippy bits dry enough overnight, I’ll be able to finish it tomorrow.
Ear Akimbo!
When Harriet gets excited, her ears go wonky. I’m not sure, exactly, what’s going on. They turn partly inside-out and partly up. This time, she’d just come in from hanging out on the patio where there were OHMYGODCATS!!!
Speaking of which, my across-the-hall neighbor caught one of the kittens this morning. He’s got medium-long, blue fur with silver tips. He’s absolutely gorgeous and is surprisingly friendly for a stray. He’s definitely not a feral. I don’t know how he fell in with the mamma-to-be cat. He’s not the right age to be one of hers, besides which, if he were, he’d be wild, which he’s not. He’s clearly been handled before and knows what people and houses are all about.
So, if anyone in the Bloomington area is looking for a pretty boy kitten, let me know. I’m half tempted to take him myself, but the last thing I need is another cat.
