Useless Day with Gratuitous Music
I didn’t get anything accomplished today except dealing (again!) with the cable company. I finally got fed up enough with how high my bill was that I called and complained. Apparently, doing so while wearing your crankypants is an effective way to get your monthly bill lowered. It’s still kind of outrageous, but it’s $40 less outrageous than it used to be. Huzzah!
Other than that, the only exciting thing I did was to drive all over town in pea soup fog this morning. Oh, and I actually found a few cute shirts at Target. I probably would have bought a new bag, too, except they all had hellish velcro. Why the hell do manufacturers have to ruin perfectly adorable bags by putting velcro on them?

You know it’s time to dump the rain water out of the planters on the patio when they start growing algae and the leaves in them begin to decompose.
Sunrise
It’s been rainy and cloudy and just plain disgusting this week. For a few minutes this morning, though, the clouds broke up enough for a little bit of pink sunrise to show. If you blinked, you missed it. Luckily, I was by the window with my camera at just the right moment.

Cookbooks
It’s too cloudy here to watch the Leonids tonight. I’m not happy about it, but that’s Indiana for you. If there’s something interesting to see in the sky, it’s guaranteed to be cloudy. So, instead of staying up way past my bedtime, I’m going to be responsible and go to bed early. After waking up at 3:00 this morning and not getting back to sleep until 10 minutes before my alarm went off, a good night’s sleep is probably in order.
And anyway, the peak of the meteor shower is supposed to be at around 4:00 in the morning, so if by some freak of nature the sky clears up before I get to work, I should be able to see plenty of them. It’ll be something to look forward to while I’m walking Harriet.
(Why cookbooks? Why not cookbooks? If you’re going to take a gratuitous photo, it ought to be, well, gratuitous, yes?)

8. iPod synched and charged. Done.
9. Banana bread baked. No, but bananas have been mashed and frozen for later.
10. Take photos. Didn’t do that, either. Maybe tomorrow.
