A Taste of Autumn

The flame-leaf sumac is starting to turn.

Thanks to an anonymous patron of teh artz, my camera set-up has been greatly upgraded. So thank you, kind anonymous patron! Today’s photos were all test shots, to get a feel for the new equipment. I can now sneak up on butterflies and bees, which makes me happy.

Flame-leaf Sumac

September 25, 2008November 30, 2015 Shelly

IMG_2573

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous the past few days. Some of the trees are beginning to turn (sassafras and flame-leaf sumac are the first to go). I’m a little concerned that we haven’t had enough rain to get really nice colors, though. If it’s too dry, the leaves will turn straight to brown.

I love baby sassafras leaves. Actually, I just love sassafras trees, period.
