Our Daily Storm
The first wave:
Apparently, we’re on the Storm a Day Plan [tm]. Thankfully, once again, the tornadoes were to the west of us and fizzled out before getting to Bloomington.
Indiana Skies
A nasty storm moved through this evening, including a tornado touching down to the west of us. Lots of wind, lots of rain, and lots of lightning. After it was over, I went outside to get photos of the wonderful orange glow in the northern sky. As I turned to go back inside, I saw the double rainbow.
Fun with PicMonkey
I’ve never really used Picnik PicMonkey (an on-line photo editing utility), but a couple of the effects are kind of fun, so I’ve been playing around with it. This is yesterday’s rainbow, the Very Long Barn, and Beck Chapel & Dunn Cemetery, all edited in PicMonkey with the Orton-izer. I’ve tried an Orton action for Photoshop and wasn’t too impressed with the results. PicMonkey seems to do a better job of it.
More Double Rainbow
I thought it was fading, but the next time I looked out the window, it had brightened.
Double Rainbow
It started thundering and raining a little bit ago. I looked out the patio window, because the light had gotten a little funny looking, and saw a rainbow. I didn’t notice until I had downloaded the photo to my computer that it was a double bow. If you look closely, you can see a faint bow outside of the primary bow.
Sky and Clouds
The sky was absolutely gorgeous this afternoon. Deep, rich blue with puffy, white clouds, all perfectly set off by the spring green treetops.

Spring Sky
Dramatic sky is dramatic.
I should go out and take photos of the garden. The columbine has a couple of bloom spikes on it. (This is the confused one that didn’t grow the first year I planted from seed, but then decided to sprout last fall, right before the first cold snap.) The buttercups and wild geraniums are blooming. The sedum is growing like the weed I suspect it is, and the coral bells have zillions of fat buds. Stuff is happenin’, y’all! But I’m too lazy to go take photos right now.
More Experimenting
I really like the way these turned out. Soft and dreamlike.
