Columbine

One of the maintenance guys brought me a couple of columbine plants. I don’t know what kind yet, but he said he thought they were the typical pointy-ended variety. I put them in the ground last night, and they seem to be perky today, so hopefully they’ll be happy and will bloom this season. They’re still pretty small, so it’ll be awhile. In the meantime, this is a top-down shot of the Rose Barlow columbine that’s taking over the end of one of my beds.

And an Instant Review: Seido Case for BlackBerry Phones

Love! I got one of their semi-hard cases, the Innocase 360. The plastic is stiff but flexible, with a matte surface that’s grippy and feels nice to the touch. It comes in two pieces and snaps together. There’s a built-in screen protector and keyboard cover. Both fit tightly, and if anything, the keyboard cover makes typing even easier.

My favorite weather guy who screwed up Saturday’s forecast? He actually wrote a blog post to apologize for getting it wrong. As if he were the only one. Weather.com and our NBC affiliate were incorrect, too, but you won’t find either of them apologizing for it. This is why he’s my favorite weather guy.

In the meantime, the flowers are really enjoying all the rain. Me, not so much. A tree fell on a neighbor’s house (no wind, just super saturated ground), and I’m pretty sure a transformer also blew. We were without electricity for a few hours this afternoon. Yuck.

I know that lens flare is a bad thing, but it’s so pretty. It’s like sparkly fairy lights.

It was a beautiful morning for a drive in the country, but it’s a good thing I got started fairly early, because despite the fact that the weather guy said it was supposed to be nice out today, I could see rain clouds gathering in the west as I was driving home. So, I timed it perfectly, I guess.
