Every cubicle should have a Dalek.
Sharing Is Caring
I swear, Thomas is a bottomless pit of want. I don’t think he even cares what you’re eating. If you’re eating it, he wants it.
Lap Dog
He has no sense of personal space.
Order Has Been Restored
And we’re back in business! The new computer arrived today. I got it about 90% set up, so I won’t miss another weekend of research.
And speaking of research, I finally ordered a DNA kit. Hopefully this will help with some brick walls.
New Personal Record
This is what happens when your dog goes on a potty strike. What should have been a 45 minute walk this morning turned into a two hour walk. Brat. I’m more pig-headed than he is, though, so I won.
And now it’s time for a bedtime snack. I love cashews. I would sit and eat them all, so I keep a measuring cup in the container.
13,330
Goal met. I think I can go to bed now.
Sunrise
Did I mention that we had a lightning strike last weekend? It fried my modem, requiring a call to Comcast (I hate phones!) and a visit from a technician to install a new
modem, because our local service center no longer carries equipment.
And then I found that the Ethernet card on my computer had also been fried. I got a USB wireless adapter, for short term, but ordered a new Ethernet card from Amazon. That arrived today.
I turned on my computer, to uninstall the old Ethernet card, shut down, physically installed the new card, tried to tuen the computer back on, aaaaand bupkis. I think the motherboard is dead.
The food news is that the hard drive is probably fine, and if it isn’t, it’s pretty well backed up. I may lose some email and a couple of day’s worth of work, but that’s not the end of the world. Being temporarily computerless might be the end of the world, though!
Happy Adoptabirthdayversary!
Thomas was about a year old when I got him, so we’re celebrating his first adoption anniversary and his second burthday. He hated the hat, so I bribed him with sliced turkey. Talk about an awkward family photo! The first photo was taken at the shelter, while I was waiting impatiently for a staff person to take him from his kennel to the play yard for me.
I can’t believe it’s been a year! The first few weeks were a little bit rocky, while we were both learning about each other, but he has turned into a fabulous dog. He’s sweet, funny, and easy to live with. Best boy ever.
