There’s nothing exciting on these pages, content-wise, but I thought I’d show why I wanted to use art paper in my planner. It’s cheap paper, but it works fine for watercolor pencil, Prismacolor, and Pitt pens. And, you can see why I complain about the lack of sunshine. This was actually a pretty good week, for Winter in Indiana.

Two Wishes
I had a bunch of crafty stuff, including some plastic pony beads, charms, and assorted jewelry making supplies, that I brought back from the Owen County clean-up project. I didn’t really want the supplies so much as the nice storage boxes they were in. Today, there was a Freecycle request for plastic beads, so I was able to pass on everything I didn’t want.
In sorting through the boxes, I came across a cheap, plastic magnifying glass. Hmmm, I thought. I took a few photos with it, but it’s dark out, so there’s really not enough available light. Tomorrow, I intend to play around some more with it.
Drain
This was taken at the main library, in the women’s bathroom on the 3rd floor of the west tower. Yes, this was once a Sink in a Bag. The end one, to be exact.
I don’t know what the heck the custodians use to clean the sinks, but there are deep scratches on all the fixtures and drain hardware. This one was the worst, though. The chrome plating is almost entirely scoured away, showing the brass underneath. And you can see greenish areas, where the metal is corroding.
Ew!

Doodles
I haven’t liked any of the planner inserts or DIY hacks I’ve seen (or, at least, when I did like them, they didn’t end up working for me), so I made my own out of 60lb student grade “art” paper. Tearing the paper and punching holes took me about 30 minutes, and it’ll take me some time to block out all the dates (I got through April done during today’s meeting).
The bonus is that during meetings, I now have easy access to art paper for doodling. I’m all for using what you have, and if all you have during a meeting is a steno pad, then that’s what you use. But having better paper at hand is nice
And now, that’s one more thing I can cross off my 101 Things list.

Another Paint Tin
Self Portrait
I hate having my picture taken. Hate it! I even yelled at some poor drunk girl at a party for pointing her camera at me. So, this is about as close as it gets to an actual photo of me. Puffy allergy eyes and all. Aieee!
I took it in the bathroom mirror, using the macro setting. The lighting is gawdawful, and my camera doesn’t like to take interior photos with available light, so it’s a bit fuzzy.
