Usually, this time of year, Thomas’ brisket, undercarriage, and front legs are red and bumpy and itchy. He got a Cytopoint injection a week ago, and it seems to be working really well. It’s expensive, but it it keeps him hives-free it’s worth it.
I’m still trawling Zillow. I may be obsessed. I zoom in on an area of the map, then sort from low to high price. That way you get the raggediest houses. Some of the photos are absolutely beautiful, though heartbreaking. Someone loved these homes, once.
I made little zink prints of a bunch of images I liked, for an artist book project.
One of the ironweed plants out in the thicket has aphids. They don’t seem to be bothering the ironweed in my garden, thankfully.

This stuff is incredibly invasive. It sure is pretty though, and it smells really good.
I spent my break time today trawling real estate listings. Some of the photos caught my attention for all the wrong reasons.

Zinnias never disappoint. They grow fast and bloom pretty much nonstop. And the flowers last forever. The very first one bloomed a couple of weeks ago, and it’s still looking pretty good (minus a few holes in its petals from hungry insects). They do well in pots, too, if you don’t have garden space.
When doubt, plant zinnias.
Thomas had his annual vet appointment today. He got a heartworm test and two vaccine boosters, and he had his lump aspirated. The vet thinks it’s just a cyst, thankfully. He also got a Cytopoint injection, for his seasonal allergies.
It was a lot of poking, but he was a very good boy. And he got lots of treats, which probably helped.
This little biscuit has a vet appointment in the morning, so he got a mani-pedi and a bath today. He’s busy trying to lick all the icky clean off himself.
My cosmos finally bloomed. A tiny little white flower, and it had a rainbow on one petal. Lovely!
