The cup holder in my car is full of stuff I’ve picked up off ground. Mostly it’s things I thought I might use in paintings or collages. Yesterday, in the parking lot at work, I bent over to pick up a broken key. A woman walking next to me gave me a dirty look. Maybe she thought I was taking something valuable that wasn’t mine? I don’t think anyone is going to miss the top half of a key, though.

Sheltering from the Storm
I took Franny down to the basement with me. She was a little restless at times, but I don’t blame her, because it must have been weird and boring to have to lie on a blanket in a strange place and do absolutely nothing. Next time, assuming we have enough warning, I’ll take treats and a stuffed Kong.
