This caught my eye as I was walking in the stacks today. I love the stitching and the recycled paper. It looks like it may have been a dictionary, in a previous life.

Progress Report
I may end up with only one zinnia flower, but I don’t even care. Look how cute it is!
I also have a couple of volunteer ironweed plants that decided to grow in my garden. They’re huge. At least 7-8 feet tall.
Reflection
I like the way the sky and trees were reflected in the birdbath.
Visitors!
A pair of mourning doves were hanging out on my patio when I got home from work. They’re more brazen than the blue jays and cardinals.
I don’t have bird feeders. A bunch of my neighbors do, but there are so many feral cats around that I don’t want to encourage the birds too much. But I do put out water for them, so they can have a bath and get a drink. It was 95F today with a real feel of 101F. On days like this there is often a literal queue for the bird bath. They start lining up on the fence and in the dead for tree next to my patio.
(I do not smoke. The upstairs neighbors do, and they toss their cigarette butts on my patio. I’ve asked them to stop, and they’re better about it, but I always have a few stray butts lying around.)
Decisions Were Made
I spent way too much time looking at this image. And looking at it. And also, looking at it. And then it occurred to me that I should check the name of the person who uploaded it. Y’all, that is a watermark. A very unfortunate watermark.

I have so many questions, and I’m not sure I want any of them answered.
Baby Zinnia Progress Report
Leon is getting larger!
I also have two ironweed plants that have volunteered in my weed garden. They’re about 8 feet tall, so when their buds open I won’t be able to get photos.
Cherry
I was prepping lunch and snacks for work tomorrow, and I found Cherry Squidward.
Flowery Things
Garden Stuff
I always leave columbine flowers alone and let them self seed.
The deer missed one daylily bud. This is the very last one of the season.
Sedum is about to start blooming. I think this one came from my mom’s garden.
Jewelweed
The jewelweed in the thicket is blooming again. Ironweed should be blooming soon, too.
