It’s looking more and more like a sunflower. With my luck, the deer will be along any day now to eat it.

Wasp Nest
I took out the trash and found a wasp nest in the parking lot, lying under a car. It looks like it fell off the undercarriage of a car. EEEP!

Better Than TV
It’s a good thing he’s entertaining, because that’s all I get to watch.
I can’t wait for the weather to cool off. The heat index has been in the upper 90s in the afternoons, which is far too hot for dog walking. The lack of exercise turns young dogs into giant pains in the ass. There’s only so much indoor stuffy fetch I can tolerate.

Great Spangled Fritillary
Today’s visitor is a great spangled fritillary. They’re super squirrely, so I’ve had a hard time getting a photo of one. By the time my camera focuses, the butterfly is half-way across town.

Black Swallowtail Butterfly
I thought this was a spicebush swallowtail, but someone on Instagram helped out with properly identifying it as a black swallowtail.
I also saw a zebra swallowtail on campus. I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo, unfortunately. They’re striking!
