Brasses

The person who stripped and painted it the first time didn’t remove the hardware for stripping, so why would they bother to do so before painting? The brasses are slopped with green and cream paint. I boiled them in water, then scrubbed away the paint with a toothbrush, then gently buffed them with #000 steel wool. I didn’t want to remove all the patina.

  1. Shelly. Meandering thru my bookmarks this morning, I discovered the old Paint-L website. I didn't know it was still up but decided to check and there you are! I think of the group often and what we learned from each other.

  2. Continuing….I probably think of you most because of what I learned about clouds from you. I have moved to a rural area where I have I obstructed views and few lights. I watch the sky and wish you were here to tell me and my grandchildren what we are seeing! LOL

  3. Hi, Annette! I remember you! And thank you, that's very sweet. I keep trying to get my coworkers to LOOK AT THE SKY. You can't drag them to the window. I don't understand it. So many gorgeous things to see up there.
