I just watched the Pioneer Woman make a meal that contained, in total, ten sticks of butter. Two in the cake, three in mashed potatoes, one on top of mashed potatoes, one spread on each half of a loaf of French bread, and two melted and poured over beef tenderloins.
The only veggie was a cheese-topped salad the guests brought. Also, the cake had layers of whipped cream and Nutella, and the potatoes had half-and-half, cream cheese, and heavy cream in them.
And right after that, Trisha Yearwood showed a couple how to make a meal that contained zero veggies.
My stomach hurts just from watching that. I’m also wondering why the Food Network hates vegetables.
Don't read the Pioneer Woman cookbook (I read it at the library)! 90% of my cooking is vegetables and I have never understood not eating them. It really is scary what people consider a “good” diet.

She annoys me for a whole lot of reasons. I don't know why I was watching her, except for the fact that the Food Network is like a giant horror show to me and sometimes I can't look away. I could not believe how much butter she used, for one meal! And that puny salad reminded me of companies that buy carbon offsets. Um, serving a few pieces of lettuce (adorned with cheese!), does not make up for gross butter abuse.
AIEEE!
I feel like I need to eat an entire garden's worth of veggies, just to bleach the memory of all that butter from my brain.
