What to Do When Your Dog Begs
I was eating wasabi peas last night, and Harriet asked for one, so I let her try them. I figured she’d spit it out, which she did, with wrinkled nose and lips. And then she picked it up again. And then she spit it out again. And then she picked it up again and ate it. I gave her another one, and she repeated the whole song and dance a second time. Then a third time.
Today, she’s down to just spitting them out once or twice, but she’s still eating them. Weirdo.
Lunch of Champions
I never used to like maple syrup. It always tasted tinny to me, but then I realized–DUH!–that I’d only ever had it from a metal container. I picked up a plastic jug of it a few weeks ago, and it is seriously yummy. So I’ve been looking for things to use it on, and plain yogurt is one of the best pairings (above, with granola and frozen blueberries). I also like it in tea and on cold cereal. Much nicer than sugar.
