Outhouse, Shiloh Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana
There was a matching outhouse opposite this one, presumably for women, but it didn’t have a plaque. I’ve never seen an outhouse in a cemetery, but considering how far out in the country this one is, maybe it’s not a crazy idea?
You almost always see the name spelled with an h on the end. For example, Shiloh Cemetery, which is on Shilo Road. My brother, Shilo, spotted the sign, and we had to stop to take a few photos.
While my brother was visiting last week, I dragged him to a couple of cemeteries. One of them was Abraham Young Cemetery, off Highway 45, near Unionville. It’s very small (thirty graves, maybe?), and it’s surrounded by trees. I noticed an old desk had been dumped in the ravine behind the cemetery, so of course, I had to get photos of it. There was also a camouflage tent near the desk, which we gave a wide berth to. No telling what kind of survivalist and/or meth addict it belonged to.

A storm blew through on Saturday afternoon, and my brother said he was going to look for a rainbow. About ten minutes later, sure enough, a rainbow popped up.
I went to my mom’s this weekend. Last night, a bunch of us were sitting around in the living room, playing games. I heard Harriet making nesting noises in the chair behind me, so I turned to look. She’d somehow gotten under the cover that was lying over the back and seat of the chair. I haven’t laughed that hard in ages. Silly goose.
