I meant to get the top of the pear in this shot, but I chopped off its head. Not by much, because Asian pears are apple-shaped, but enough to miss the interesting shadows in the area around where the stem had been seated. (I tried to find an Asian pear with its stem intact, but they had all been de-stemmed.)
