A strong storm system moved in last night, just as it was starting to get dark. The rain was welcome, but the lightning and thunder, not so much.

I just looked out the patio window and saw this monster heading right for us. Eeep!

There’s a tornado warning box under all the lightning strikes, to the southwest of Bloomington. It looks like that cell is heading southeast, so it hopefully won’t affect us.
Incoming
I can hear thunder. I hope this little cell doesn’t disappear before it gets here, so I don’t have to water the garden.
I found a few yellow primroses blooming, when I weeded. The poor things were entirely engulfed by vines.
I thought I’d better sweep up the remaining debris, becore it rains. Also, PATIO FURNITURE! I could actually sit outside now, if it cos off enough.
And Now for Some Fake Weather
I think the Storm app pulls data from Weather Underground. I looked at the WU website, and sure enough, there’s a weather station in Bloomington that’s reporting 129F. The hourly forecast at the bottom of the image is closer to reality.
Surf’s Up!
I mostly like the Storm weather app, but it has some icons that are a little odd. And then there are the occasional high surf warnings. We don’t actually have surf, being land-locked. I assume the warning is for high water on the Ohio River.

They weren’t kidding when they said we were in the line of a strong storm system.
Decisions, Decisions
I work for a state institution, so we get paid time pff for all the usual federal holidays. However, where I work, we have the option of working on some holidays and banking the holiday hours for later use. MLK day is one of those holidays.
On the one hand, I worked all weekend, so having a day off would be nice. On the other, saving that time for future snow days would be prudent. On the other-other, it’s supposed to be asthma-inducing cold tomorrow at 6am, which is when I leave for work.
Hmf.
Mid-December
This is ridiculous. The low heating bill will be nice, though.
