It rained a lot this weekend. In fact, folks were setting off fireworks during the rain on Saturday.

Raindrops on Daylilies
Did That Just Happen?
It’s storming. Thunder, lightning, wind, rain, the whole enchilada.
So, of course, my pedantic coworker says, “It’s not storming yet. It’s not supposed to start for another couple of hours.” Well, gee, someone should tell Mr. Storm that. So then pedantic coworker says, “But the radar isn’t showing anything.” Look out the window, you giant ass! It’s storming! Duh.
And then, a couple of minutes later, he says, “Oh. The radar image I was looking at was from two hours ago.”
Jesus wept.
Rain on the Garden
Storm Clouds
Mammatus Clouds
These are my favorite cloud formations, because they’re dramatic, but not normally directly associated with severe storms. They only lasted a short while before dissipating, and then the sky was just boring rainy grey for the rest of the afternoon. Luckily, I happened to look out the window at the right time.
Rainy Day
It poured rain this morning, and most of the day the sky was wall-to-wall grey, but the clouds are starting to break up. And I’m not really complaining. I just checked on my garden, and it’s happy. There are tender shoots popping up everywhere. Primroses, irises, lilies, columbine, bleeding hearts, and all sorts of other stuff.
Snow
I had to work this morning, but left just before the roads got bad. There wasn’t a whole lot of snow, but there was icy-sleety horribleness underneath it, and I didn’t want to be out in it. Which is just as well, because things were not okay in blogland, and if I’d been working all day, I wouldn’t have had time to fix the problem. I really need to upgrade WordPress, but not today, thankyewverymuch!
Hello, Mr. Sunshine
Did you forget to rise and shine this morning? I think you must have, because from my window, I can tell that it’s not yet daylight. At 11:15am. Please remedy this oversight ASAP.
Thankyew!
Snow Day
The university was closed today, which was good. It means that I won’t have to use vacation time, as they’ll compensate everyone who was scheduled to work. It also meant that I got to shovel snow, which I kind of enjoy. Unfortunately, there is so much snow that, even with 4WD, I don’t think I’ll be able to get out of my parking space until they plow our lot. Which they still haven’t done, and probably won’t do until sometime tomorrow.
Normally, I’d be perfectly happy to stay in all day, drinking hot cocoa, eating buttered toast, and reading a good book. But! Today was supposed to be Operation Cracktop Day! I was going to go pick up my new laptop. Hrmf. It’s going to have to wait until tomorrow, and my inner five year old is not amused.
