Thomas didn’t eat any more books yesterday or today. Good boy! He got a long walk this evening and then actually settled down and slept for five minutes. He doesn’t often have time to snuggle, but when he does, he’s ridiculously cute about it.

Thomas Goes to the Vet
Thomas had his vet check-up today. He was a very good boy. It’s weird to have a dog who likes other dogs. He wanted to say “Hi” to everyone in the waiting room, which is a no-no (you never know why the other animal is there, so you shouldn’t let them interact). It was a nice change from Frances yelling at everyone, though, even if he couldn’t meet and greet everyone.
He was also a good boy for his exam and vaccinations. He was a little whiny while waiting, but he’s just generally a whiny dog. Nothing new there. He schmoozed with everyone and even did a combination play bow and headstand in the vet tech’s lap. He’s a giant dork and a social butterfly.

Goldilocks
It’s starting to feel like a dog lives here, again.
He spends his chill-out time moving from bed to bed, like Goldilocks. He naps on one for a while, then moves to the next, with nap stops on the couch and the ottoman, too. It’s kind of ridiculous for one dog to have three beds in the living room, but he’s using all of them.
It’s a Boy!
He doesn’t have a name yet. I have a couple I’m considering. He’s a year old Boxer x Labrador Retriever.
It’s been a long time since I’ve had a male dog. He’s super sweet and non-reactive, but he’s got some anxiety issues. I’m hoping the anxiety will subside as he settles in.
He supposedly loves cats. Mine are appalled and want nothing to do with the dog, but that’s normal. They hated Frances at first, too.
And look at how straight and tucked his sit is! No sidesaddle posture, so hopefully his knees are nice and sound.
