This is usually the best morning view in the building. The windows overlook Wright Quad.
The break room windows are still fogged up with condensation.
Not a bad way to start the day, but I have a feeling that may be the high point. Happy Monday!
I suck at blogging lately. That happens when I’m immersed in research. I’m likely to bore everyone later with some fun (to me!) finds, so enjoy the pretty sky and cute puppy-cat photos while you can. #sorrynotsorry
Another well timed mosey to the coffee maker, which included a walk by the windows. I didn’t think we’d get much of a sunrise this morning, because it was cloudy, but I was wrong.
It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood. Perfect dog walking weather this morning (mid-50sF), and critters are active. We saw deer and a fox today.
Did I mention that we had a lightning strike last weekend? It fried my modem, requiring a call to Comcast (I hate phones!) and a visit from a technician to install a new
modem, because our local service center no longer carries equipment.
And then I found that the Ethernet card on my computer had also been fried. I got a USB wireless adapter, for short term, but ordered a new Ethernet card from Amazon. That arrived today.
I turned on my computer, to uninstall the old Ethernet card, shut down, physically installed the new card, tried to tuen the computer back on, aaaaand bupkis. I think the motherboard is dead.
The food news is that the hard drive is probably fine, and if it isn’t, it’s pretty well backed up. I may lose some email and a couple of day’s worth of work, but that’s not the end of the world. Being temporarily computerless might be the end of the world, though!
I got to sleep in long enough this morning that the sun was rising while I walked the dog. That never happens.
It’s supposed to storm all afternoon, so this is probably as good as it gets.
