It’s blooming. In November. Silly plant.

I can’t believe how well the cannas did this year! Last year I planted several bulbs, and they came up, but didn’t do anything. This year, they must have been happy, because a couple of them reached 7 feet tall, and they all bloomed their silly heads off.

I woke up to rain this morning, and it’s supposed to continue through tomorrow. We were desperately in need of it. It’s the perfect sort of rain for the plants–soft and steady–so hopefully my garden will be happy. I don’t think the cannas minded the dry spell, though. The silly things are at least 6 feet tall and still blooming their fool heads off.

Poor little aster. First it was forgotten, and now, it’s being crowded out by the over-achieving cannas. Hopefully it’s enjoying the rain we’ve been having.

Yes, again. But look! It finally bloomed!

These silly cannas just keep blooming and blooming and blooming. Some of them are on their 3rd and 4th bloom spikes.
