Rose Barlow
The Rose Barlow columbine is blooming! The White Barlow variety I planted at the same time (three summers ago!) has finally shown itself, too. I’m pretty sure it is not normal for columbine to take years to germinate. Very strange, but they’re growing and blooming now, so I’m not going to complain.
Fleabane
This is a Lensbaby 2.0 shot. It’s not a great photo. You can see purple fringing around the outer edge of the flower. I kind of like it, though.
Columbine
My poor little columbine plants. I’ve completely ignored them, but they’re still blooming their little hearts out.
Wish
I love dandelions. I don’t know why people think they need to spray toxic crap all over their yards to get rid of them. They’re one of the first things that blooms in the spring. Not only are they a welcome burst of color, but they are an important early source of food for pollinating insects. We should be doing everything we can to support bees, and spraying pesticides on dandelions is the opposite of that.

I’m sick and tired of the rain, but it does do lovely things for my garden.
Benign Neglect
Mr. Oxalis is still happy with his state of benign neglect. I picked some of the old blossoms off and noticed that there are a bunch of new baby leaves just starting to poke up from the soil.
