Piglet Percival Smith

Piglet

Piglet still hates Frances, but he’s decided that his hate is not strong enough to keep him from hanging out with me when the dog is around. Usually this means being on the floor, by my feet. Sometimes he naps, which is sweet. Sometimes he bites my feet, which is not so sweet. It is also kind of stupid, because the only thing between Piglet and the evil dog is me. Biting me does not make me very inclined to protect him.

Every Desk Needs a Cat

IMG_0089

Pig is settling in very well. Henry still hisses at him sometimes, but she’s playing chase games with him now, so I think the worst is over. My mom mailed me his rabies certificate, so I was able to make an appointment for him to see the vet and to get neutered. Two weeks until the cone of shame!

He’s a funny cat. Sometimes he bites, which is common with cats who were orphaned as kittens. He didn’t have a mamma or litter mates to teach him that biting is inappropriate. And bless his little heart, he tries not to, but he just can’t help it. When he bites I put him in time out in the bathroom for 10 minutes or so, and he comes out with a whole new attitude. But then he’s also incredibly snuggly and totally trusting about being handled. You can play with his feet and ears and whiskers and he just lies there, enjoying the attention. Last night he slept, sprawled across my chest and shoulders, for a couple of hours while I watched TV.
