I meant to post this yesterday, but forgot. I was out with the dog, and the sun was shining through the leaves, making them glow.

Went for a Snifty
The flame-leaf sumac is really turning. I noticed this morning though that some of them aren’t.
All of them bloomed a while back. Not all developed fruit. I’m guessing the fruitless ones are male and the ones with fruit are female. But what’s strange is that the fruitless ones are the ones that are turning red. The ones with fruit are way behind. They’ll eventually turn, too, but at this point they’re still mostly green.
Turning
I saw this leaf while I was walking the dog. I love it, but I’m not ready for fall.

Fall is coming. Thanks, I hate it.
Autumnal
It’s finally starting to feel like fall. I had to wear a hoodie this morning.
Frosty Morning
I don’t think Thomas saw the deer. He was too busy aniffing around for bunnies.
Leaves
The grounds crew were piling up leaves around campus today. This one was about four feet tall.
Foggy Morning
It was beautiful at 4am, when I was walking the dog. Crepuscular rays from all the street lights, and that peculiar dampening-and-sharpening of sounds that happens in thick fog. And it was just a little bit chilly.
Blessed Fall
It’s finally here! When I walked the dog this morning, I wore a hoodie, and I was still a little cold.
Leaves
It’s trying to rain, but it’s in the mid-70s, so I’m not complaining. I still haven’t turned on the heat. This weekend, that will probably change, though. Lows in the 30s. It may finally start feeling like fall!
