It was coming down pretty fast for awhile, but it’s slowed down now. There isn’t much accumulation, so far, but Harriet is NOT AMUSED! Every time she goes outside, she slips and slides around on the patio, because there’s a layer of ice under the snow.
Instant Review: Ellettsville License Branch
I renewed my driving license and had the title for my car transferred into my name today. There was no wait, and start to finish, the entire process took 11 minutes. I give it five stars!
I got to thinking, though, and I’ve never actually had a bad BMV experience. Even back in the days when the waits were interminable, the actual service was good. In fact, one time when I went in to renew my very out of date driving license, one of the clerks took pity on me and let me skate by without the requisite number of IDs. He let me use a non-photo public library card for one of the IDs, then he had me get a state ID card, which then equaled enough ID to get my actual license. And after all that he didn’t charge me for the state ID card. He could have just said, “Sorry, come back with more ID,” but instead he went out of his way to figure out how to help me.
Tree of the Damned
My cubicle neighbor, who ought to know by now that I am scroogier than Scrooge himself, asked me this morning if she could put her little Christmas tree on top of my bookshelf. WTF?! I was speechless. Boundaries: YOU ARE CROSSING THEM! I told her I don’t like Christmas or Christmas decorations (which she should have figured out by now, since I always complain about them, and I never put any up. Duh!), but I don’t think she gets it. So whatever. Now I have a fake tree lurking over me. Ugh. But it’s one of those things that I don’t feel like I can make a big scene over, so I’m stuck with the damned thing.
I do think the moose adds a little je ne sais quoi.
Too True to Be Funny
The sad part is that there are people out there who really are that clueless.
In other news, I ran out of dish soap and needed to wash a few dishes, but didn’t want to go to the store. So, I used plain old bar soap, sudsing it up with a scrubby sponge, and it worked GREAT. Who knew?!
Morning Sky
Belt of Venus
I like the pattern the steam makes in this image. It was about 10F, and it’s supposed to be just as cold tomorrow morning, too. As I was warming up my car and scraping the windows, before leaving for work, one of my neighbors came out of his apartment, jumped in his car, started it, and immediately drove off. Without letting it warm up, and without scraping the windows! Poor car!
