I got Mack the hood ornament in a white elephant Christmas swap several years ago.
And one of a pair of old hand-painted folkart bookends I found at Goodwill. Kitschy-cute.
I spent the afternoon dusting and tidying up bookshelves. You can’t even tell that I did anything. Hmf.
I worked today, because I will need to take time off Tuesday to pick up my car. One of the books I cataloged was a gift, and it was full of marginalia and annotated dog ears.
I know writing in books makes some people break out in hives I love it, though.

This flower pot is a popular napping spot for the feral cats. I put an end panel from a dog crate over it, to discourage them, which seems to be working well. Yay!
And then, since something worked for me, the damn deer ate my day lilies. We are not allowed to have nice things, obviously.
I washed the covers of Franny’s old beds, then stacked them in the corner of the living room. Polly has been enjoying her new bedonabed.
The echinacea near the loading dock was swarming with bumblebees when I left work this affernook.
A strong storm system moved in last night, just as it was starting to get dark. The rain was welcome, but the lightning and thunder, not so much.
The weather today was absolutely perfect for sitting on the patio and writing.
I was somehow a little bit early for work again this morning. I have no idea how that even happened, since I overslept.
The funny looking weedy things growing in my flower pots alongside the volunteering forget-me-nots finally bloomed and showed themselves to be coreopsis. I’m glad I didn’t pull them out!
I stopped at Kroger on my way home from work. They were completely out of Halo Top ice cream. Boo! But there were some gorgeous pink lilies in front of the store, so I took some photos.
