Raspberry Blossom
I walked around out back to check on the raspberries and multiflora. There are several buds on each that are close to blooming, but this was the only one that was actually open.

Common Grackle
I’ve been wondering what these black birds were. There are zillions of them out back, but every time I try to identify them online, I can’t summon up a detailed image of them. This is a crappy photo, but it was good enough for an ID.
Bathroom
The bathrooms at work leave a little (or a lot, actually) to be desired. For a start, the tile is several shades of aqua. I happen to really like blue-greens, but not so much for mismatched institutional bathroom tile. Another problem is that a lot of the fittings are corroded. This is the water pipe going to one of the toilets. Nice!
Lilacs
The maintenance guys finally (!) fixed my dishwasher yesterday afternoon, so I was able to go run some errands. At the grocery store, there were several lilac bushes in bloom. I took a couple of quick photos (and got a really dirty look from some random guy who was parked nearby, and who apparently had never seen anyone taking photos in public before).
Kayla Has a Sad
I was out on my patio and looked up to see Kayla watching me. Her owners stick her out on the balcony for brief time-outs. Poor little Miss Kayla knows how to work the pitiful look.
Rainy Landscape
We’ve actually had a very lovely spring, so far. It’s been a little chilly, and though the rain is kind of annoying, it’s good for all the growing things. It’s a nice change from the past few years, where we skipped spring entirely and went straight to summer.
Thistle
I was trying to get a shot of raindrops on the top sides of the thistle leaves, but then I noticed that the undersides were even prettier. The bottom one even has tiny spider webs strung across the little thistle hairs.
Rainy Days and Caterpillars
This little guy was hanging out on a sassafras sapling. I love the raindrops clinging to his little hairs and sparkling like tiny jewels.
