Winter Leaves
For once, the weather forecast was correct. We got quite a bit of snow last night. Enough that I decided to take a snow day. Most of my patio is sheltered, so only the heavier sleet has blown in where the flower pots are stored, upside down, along the patio window. Leaves got caught in the bottom of this one, then froze and refroze in a pool of water that accumulated.

We got a dusting of snow last night (more supposedly on the way tonight and tomorrow). When I got home from work, there was a single bird track on my patio.

I did a little cleaning up of the dark areas on the second photo. Other than that, and the fact that it’s a little better centered, it’s pretty close to the one I posted yesterday.

Lotus
A coworker brought in a fakety-fake ficus tree last week, then proceeded to put all sorts of fakety-fake birds, birdhouses, and bird nests in it. She also brought in some fake plants and a dried flower arrangement, with lotus pods. The mind, it doth boggle.

Justin Quinnell set up several homemade pinhole cameras and left them for 3-6 months. The results, which are absolutely beautiful, are contained in a pdf slideshow.

Water and Ice

The condensation is back on the windows at work, only this time, because it’s been below zero, the windows that don’t have radiators beneath them are frozen. On some of the windows, there are frozen drips, and on others, pebbly ice crystals. It was very pretty, with the sun shining through the ice.

These are the two windows in my cubicle. They are obviously adjacent to each other, but the left one has a radiator under it, so it didn’t freeze.
