Thankfully, no one came into the staff lounge while I was lying in the middle of the floor, taking this photo.
In other news, the kids are flooding back into town. I stopped at Target on the way home to pick up cat litter, and the store was a circus. And because some jeenyous is in charge of scheduling, there weren’t anywhere near enough check-out lanes open. An errand that normally takes 10 minutes took closer to 30.
We’re having an extra long staff meeting tomorrow. I wonder if we are going to collectively get our hands slapped for being little chatterboxes, and if so, whether or not I’ll be allowed to skip those particular festivities, since I’ve already had more than my fair portion. I wouldn’t want to be greedy, after all.
I stayed home sick on Monday, and my boss asked me this morning if I’d skipped work because I was upset with her. Srsly. That she would assume that it’s all about here is mind boggling. Not to mention that, if I were still angry on Monday, after getting in trouble the previous Wednesday, why would I suddenly be unangry enough on Tuesday to come back to work? The mind boggles.
And now, I think it’s time for some gratuitous flower pictures.
As I was snapping beans, occasionally one would fall on the floor. Miss Brown hoovered them up as quickly as they fell.
I’ve been doing laundry this afternoon, and I while in the basement, noticed that the light was on in the adjoining room. There’s nothing in there except electrical meters, storage access, and a big wall box of AT&T’s phone wires. And yes, that’s mold on the wires. O gross!

Day Lily Buds
You know those day lily plants I moved recently, so that they could actually get a little sunlight? One of them has decided to bloom! Better late than never, I guess.
I can’t get up for two minutes without Harriet stealing my seat. And when I come back, she pretends she can’t hear or see me, because she knows I’m going to tell her to move.
This is why I don’t have many photos of the kittens.
My green peppers are turning red. I’ve also (finally!) got a couple of fairly good sized ripe tomatoes, and have discovered that they are sweet. Like candy. Yum. And the texture is just amazing–fine-grained and juicy. I’ve been eating store-bought tomatoes for so long, I’d forgotten what a real tomato tasted like.
Since I was already distracted by the dangling worker outside my window, I thought I’d waste some more time today, taking photos of my messy desk. It is not, however, one of the messiest desks on the floor, and thank goodness for that. I would have a nervous breakdown if I were stuck in some of my coworkers’ cubicles. We’re talking stacks of paper teetering and falling to the floor. And this is after the supposed “clean up” week.
This guy was actually hanging over the sidewalk, which was kind of exciting. Again, no face mask. Surely, it’s not a good idea to be breathing all that limestone dust. Not if you want to continue breathing, that is.
