Garden Stuff
I always leave columbine flowers alone and let them self seed.
The deer missed one daylily bud. This is the very last one of the season.
Sedum is about to start blooming. I think this one came from my mom’s garden.
Zinnias
My zinnias are making progress. I’m still salty that the deer ate my daylilies, but there are other things that will be blooming soon.
Raindrops
I will never get tired of raindrops on flowers. It’s the best part of summer.
Flowery Things
The deer left me a few of the plain red daylilies. And I finally planted some zinnia seeds. They’re super late, but once they start blooming they’ll keep it up until the first frost.
Evening Daylily
The deer have finally noticed the daylily buds, but they left me a couple of yellow flowers. I think I may try discouraging them with pinwheels next year. They won’t hurt anything, and they might help?
It Bloomed
The big, yellow daylily bud opened today. I went out to look at the sky, but got distracted by the flowers. And then I dropped my phone on the patio and cracked the protective cover over the lenses. Better than breaking the phone, though!
Yellow
My yellow daylilies are about to bloom. I really hope the deer don’t get to them first.
Raindrops on Daylilies

We had one hell of a storm. It blew through fast and furious, knocking out electricity and internet service all over town. It hit just as I was leaving work. I stayed late so I’d miss the worst of it. Even so, traffic was a mess going home, because traffic lights were out everywhere.
But look how pretty the daylilies are, all bedazzled with raindrops!
Pollen on Daylily
The color on these fancy red daylilies never comes out right, no matter what camera I’m using. These are pretty close though! I got them from a friend’s mom in 2007. They were moving out of state and let me take a bunch of perennials and bulbs from their garden. Her mom passed away a couple of years ago, but her flowers live on.
