I had about 10 minutes to run out and take some photos, before the second wave started moving in. The red daylily was looking spectacular, all adorned with raindrop diamonds.

I love the way these red daylilies look in the bright sunlight. Not that I’m enjoying the ungodly heat, but it is nice to see the sun once in awhile.

This may also be wood poppy. They’re very similar, and I’m not sure how to tell the difference between the two. It’s coming through the fence from my neighbor’s garden, so I guess you could say it’s a gift from her, too. I’m not sure what to do about it, because it’s really aggressive. So much so that it’s choking out the mint in her garden, which is impressive!

My neighbor brought me a baby butterfly bush last week. I put immediately put it in the ground, and it has rewarded me with itty bitty flowers.

Since I did my cemetery visiting and blogging over the weekend, I’m going to post flower photos today. All are Lensbaby shots. And yes, I know fleabane is a weed, but it’s pretty, and I can’t bring myself to pull it from my flower bed.

The tomato seedlings in this pot are about twice the size of those in the other pot, but that may because they’re different varieties. I planted both sandwich tomatoes and Romas, but I can’t remember which are which, so I’ll have to wait and see.

You don’t usually see photos looking into the center of an iris, so I thought I’d take more of them. And because we’ve had more (and more and more and more and more) rain, there are more raindrops.

One of the maintenance guys brought me a couple of columbine plants. I don’t know what kind yet, but he said he thought they were the typical pointy-ended variety. I put them in the ground last night, and they seem to be perky today, so hopefully they’ll be happy and will bloom this season. They’re still pretty small, so it’ll be awhile. In the meantime, this is a top-down shot of the Rose Barlow columbine that’s taking over the end of one of my beds.
