This is the wall above where the fourth floor photocopier sat. I’m not sure what the figures are for. Maybe students were trying to work out how much money they needed to put on their copy cards?

DO NOT Lower Door. There could be serious consequences if this door is forced down. It will automatically drop in case of fire and this is the only time it is to be closed.

I’m not sure what these little dumbwaiter elevator thingies were used for. I believe, years ago, the library stacks were closed to the public. When you wanted a book, you’d write the call number on a slip of paper and a page would fetch it for you. I’m assuming these little elevators were used to send books from the stacks down to the main floor. They’ve obviously been out of use for years.
